Done

Post  MusicNeku on Mon Jan 03, 2011 7:09 pm

Topic paragraph ish done
The Mars rover is an automated motor vehicle which propels itself across the surface of mars after it lands on the planet. The rovers are six-wheeled, solar-powered robots that stand 1.5m (4.9ft) high, 2.3 m (7.5ft) wide and 1.6m (5.2 long. They weight 180kg (400 lb), 35kg (80 lb) of which is the wheel and suspension system. Why were they were made as these were to take on the on the terrain on mars. How, with the funding of 820 million dollars they were able to get/make the equipment for the rovers. Where, the place the rovers were made in was at NASA; the practice rovers were made in the same place but tested in Pasadena. When, they were made in the year 2003 for the idea of exploring mars. Who, JPL the research and development arm of NASA developed and designed the rovers.

Come forth, 2nd paragraph!
The rovers have six wheels mounted on a rocker-bogie suspension system that ensures wheels to remain on the ground while driving over rough terrain. The design cuts the range of motion by half, and allows the rover to go over obstacles and through holes that are more than a wheel diameter apart (250 mm or 10 inches) in size. The wheels also have cleats, providing grip for climbing soft sand and over rocks. Each wheel haves its own motor, the two front and back wheels have individual steering motors allowing the vehicle to turn in place, a full revolution, and to swerve and curve making arching turns. It’s also equipped with it is own fault protection limits in its hazard avoidance software to avoid tilts of 30 degrees. The power supply the rover holds is solar powered, the electronic systems are mostly used to gather samples and send data back to NASA so that they can examine it and confirm what it is. It is actually like a robotic scientist.

LADIES AND GENTLEBAKAS! THE 3RD PARAGRAPH >=O
The reason why the rovers were made was for the exploration of mars and to examine its habitant to see if mars was once living planet instead of how it is now, a desert wasteland. The mission deals with two rovers called spirit and opportunity which were made around 2003. MER-A Spirit and MER-B Opportunity were sent to mars to explore and examine its geology. The mission’s scientific objective was to search for and characterize a wide range of rocks and soils that hold clues to past water activity on mars. The mission was only to last 90 Martian days but since the rovers lasted longer than the requirement the rovers received five mission extensions. The rovers have explored the planet well enough to provide evidence on the fact that mars had water on its soil.

PARAGRAPH 4 IS NOW DONE
The rovers were made under a budget $820 million, that counts building, launching, landing, and operation the rovers on the surface of mars. As said in the last paragraph they lasted passed their 90 Martian day primary mission, the five mission extensions which cost $124 million. The rest of the money was placed among how they were going to reach mars which was by rocket, then aero shell, parachute, airbags and a lander which is the base of the rovers. The naming of the roves, spirit and opportunity were named by a student essay competition. The winning entry was by a 3rd grade Russian American student named Sofi Collis from Arizona. The reason MER-A was called spirit and MER-B was called opportunity was because of the order of landing on mars.

The things im not hearing in this conversation!!!!!!!
The Mars rovers were made at the JPL, which is the development branch of NASA. This is based in Pasadena, California. The laboratory is a federally funded research and development center and NASA field center located in the San Gabriel valley of Los Angeles county, California, United States. The facility is headquartered in Pasadena on the border La Canada Flintridge and Pasadena. JPL designed and developed the rovers for the mars exploration mission, along with the test rovers and practice terrain used for the test rovers and rovers alike.

aaaaand done.
